Date Ideas to Set Your Mind at Ease
It is not always easy to come up with date ideas that take the stress out of getting together for the first time. You want to come up with something that makes it easy to talk because you are just getting to know each other. Right off the bat, eliminate anything with loud music or dark theatres.
Forget about going to the local watering hole for dinner and drinks — yawn. That shows you have absolutely no imagination and that you haven’t given any thought to the meeting. Think about what you two have in common. What drew you to this person in the first place?
Outdoorsy Dates
When you meet via online dating, you might not know as much about each other than if you met through a friend. If you both like the great outdoors, there are lots of things you can do. Fun date ideas don’t have to be expensive or elaborate.
If you live in a large metropolitan area, there are usually fairs or festivals almost every weekend. Cheap date ideas can include an ethnic festival. They are usually free to attend, although you may have to pay to park and for food or souvenirs. Walking around and looking at various exhibits is relaxing and can promote conversation, especially if neither of you are of the ethnicity of the festival.
Rock climbing or ice skating can show off your physical prowess or maybe show your vulnerabilities. Slipping, falling and laughing about it can be a great bonding activity. Maybe you catch the other person and prevent them from falling. That can go a long way to learning to trust another person.
Date ideas can come from anywhere around where you live. Visiting a local landmark can be fun, especially if neither of you have never been there before. Don’t forget your camera. By taking photos in front of the landmark, you will have a nice way to remember the day.

Going to an art gallery and checking out the paintings can be a romantic dating choice. Walking hand in hand while looking at beautiful works of art will make your heart beat a little faster. Pretending to pose like some of the people in the paintings or sculptures will make it fun too. Coffee and dessert afterwards will put an exclamation point on the end of a good experience.
Visiting the aquarium, zoo or aviary doesn’t really sound romantic, but it can be. The aquarium is usually dimly lit and people speak in hushed tones. You can find romance anywhere if you try hard enough!

You don’t have to watch sports. You can also play them. A date of mini-golf can be a great time. You don’t have to have any skills at all to play. Bowling is another sport you can play. It can bring out your competitive nature, so be careful. You don’t want to be too combative on the first date.

Show your creative edge by painting your own pottery. Maybe you can make gifts for each other as keepsakes to remember the day. One last idea is to do volunteer work together.
